Jodi Hayward, (Ngapuhi, Te Rarawa, Ngati Huarere), is an executive leader and voice for indigenous and impact investment in Aotearoa. As the sector rapidly grows globally, Jodi is proving a model for how relationship-based investment practices can result in high value impact.    

 

Jod is CEO of Te Pae Roa, a tikanga Māori support system and investment connector in Te Tai Tokerau. There, she, and her team create space for whānau interested in investment to confidently access tools and resources that will enhance their capability and capacity, while also allowing investors to see the potential in their rohe. They help to establish and scale kaupapa, business and enterprise in a way that achieves impact for them and investors.

 

It is a kaupapa that in three years has already attracted well-known investors in Aotearoa such as The Tindall Foundation, Foundation North, The Todd Foundation, and JR McKenzie; and has secured over $100m in investments for kaupapa Maori.  Through investment connection and technical support, the team have worked behind the scenes supporting high profile projects such as Nau Mai Rā - the first kaupapa Māori electricity retailer as well as the establishment phase of engagement on Wai 262 - the Waitangi Tribunal flora and fauna claim that is set to bring about constitutional change. 

 

Weaving two decades of mahi at grassroots, regional economic development level, with strategic consulting projects and education in international communications and executive leadership, Jodi is known as an impact player and strategic thinker with some serious entrepreneurial spirit. 

 

She is an intellectual force who has been the dealmaker and connector behind the scenes of many growth projects and collaborations. 

 

Owner of successful start-up food retail business SuperBowl NZ in Kerikeri, Jodi also sits on the board of Keteriki Limited, and is a managing director within her family telecommunications business HQ Connect Limited.   

 

As an associate for Tīrama NZ, Jodi provides leadership development and partnership strategy services to executive leadership teams in corporate organisations. Through her service she aims to raise the consciousness of corporates and investors by providing insight on how to share space and invest with Māori.
