Ashley Smout is an experienced business leader with a track record of success in both private sector and Government-owned organisations in New Zealand, Australia and Asia. Ashley has built strong values-based teams and has led complex change projects to support business turnarounds and transformations. He has a background in sales and marketing.

Ashley was Chief Executive Officer at Airways New Zealand and led the company to become a customer-focussed, profitable organisation in a regulated, unionized environment. He was also a senior executive at NZ Post, instrumental in helping change the company from a mail business to a customer-centric, e-commerce delivery business.

Ashley has run manufacturing sites in Australia and Singapore and is experienced in a wide range of industries and sectors including logistics, technology, aviation, energy, service businesses and consultancy.

Ashley’s consultancy services skill set is also in projects including company mergers, strategic resets, and leadership development and coaching. He is also an investor in new business start-ups as a member of Flying Kiwi Angels.
